The Compass runs a 3D base developed by Jason Kanes, who has designed and manufactured snowboards since the early '90s. It's proprietary technology, not licensed or borrowed from anywhere else, and it's the same technical edge Signal's own team rides for themselves.

A slight bevel on both edges eases up into the sidecut rather than running flat all the way out, taking the very edge of the base slightly out of contact with the snow. That shape means less base area to catch when you're flat-basing onto a box or sliding a rail, and it lets the nose and tail plane over soft snow instead of digging in on low-angle powder days.

It's not a beginner board. Getting the most out of that 3D shape takes a flex that rewards riders with real experience already.

3D Flat Camber

Signal’s 3D Flat Camber pairs traditional camber with a refined hourglass-shaped 3D base that slightly lifts the board’s center for smoother edge transitions and reduced edge catch. Engineered by Jason Kanes, it keeps the full power, pop, and precision of true camber while adding a looser, more forgiving feel when flat-basing, buttering, or pressing. The result is faster glide, easier tuning, and a ride that’s both responsive and playful.

01. Topsheet

TS1

A durable, UV-resistant topsheet that locks in the graphic and shields it from scratches, chips, and sun fade run after run. It adds a layer of impact resistance across the deck without adding bulk, so the board stays light and lively underfoot. Built to keep its finish looking fresh long after the first few days on snow.

Stringers

A thinner core paired with carbon stringers in place of standard wood ones, shedding weight while adding energy return. The carbon reacts faster than wood alone, giving the board sharper snap and a noticeably lighter, more responsive feel underfoot.

03. Top Glass

Super Pop Triaxial Fiberglass

A lively triaxial laminate that enhances energy transfer and snap from edge to edge. Positioned on the top layer, it boosts responsiveness and pop while maintaining a smooth, controlled flex - ideal for riders who demand precision and power in every turn.

Paulownia w/ Poplar Stringers

A lightweight paulownia foundation reinforced with poplar stringers for added strength and energy return.
